An eco-clean-up was held on the territory of the Volga-Kama State Nature Reserve as part of the All-Russian campaign "Discovering the Country". 100 eco-volunteers from 13 educational organizations of Kazan took part in it. The All-Russian action "Discovering the Country" is a marathon of clean-ups in specially protected natural territories of federal significance, organized by the Russian Environmental Operator in cooperation with the Ecosystem Movement and the Roszapovedcenter of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia. The main goal of the project is the formation of the ecological culture of the population, attracting the attention of young people to environmental issues and fostering a love of nature. The project is being implemented on the territory of 6 subjects of the Russian Federation: Moscow, Vologda, Chelyabinsk and Voronezh regions, Kabardino-Balkarian Republic and the Republic of Tatarstan.
The organizers of the clean-up day in Tatarstan are the youth environmental movement "It will be clean!" jointly with the Volga-Kama Nature Reserve with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.
For two hours, the participants not only collected garbage, but also landscaped the territory of the reserve. Totally was collected:
- 7 kg of plastic;
- 5 kg of metal;
- 8 kg of glass.
As a result of the campaign, the participants were presented with letters of thanks, as well as memorable gifts from the organizers of the event and the Volga-Kama State Nature Reserve.
