Victoria Abramchenko assessed the restoration of disturbed lands in the village of Shemordan

22 September 2023, Friday

Today, as part of a helicopter flight, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, together with the Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov and the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov, inspected a site of reclaimed land in the village of Shemordan of Sabinsky district.  This object of accumulated environmental damage with an area of more than 16 thousand square meters was eliminated in Tatarstan thanks to the national project "Ecology". 76.6 million rubles were allocated for the work.

Let us recall that reclamation was needed due to accumulated oil-containing waste. Four pits filled with oil bitumen remained on the site of the plant, which went bankrupt in the 90s of the XX century. The site with bitumen puddles and persistent unpleasant odor was located near the railway and the forest. It was toxic and very dangerous. Now the site is fully restored and landscaped.

Also during the flyby, the Minister of Ecology acquainted the Deputy Prime Minister with plans for the reclamation of another section of disturbed land in the same village. In August of this year, Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko agreed to include measures to restore disturbed lands with oil-containing pollution on Zavodskaya Street in the village of Shemordan in the federal project "Clean Country". The work is planned to begin this year. The total area of the contaminated area is 4,746 m2.

Thanks to the implementation of all environmental measures in the village of Shemordan, 6 thousand villagers have already felt positive changes.
