Two significant campaigns will be held in Tatarstan on the International Day for Protection of ozone layer

September 16th is the International Day for protection of ozone layer. On this day, a nature protection, ecological and educational campaign “Lesson of Cleanliness” will take place in educational establishments of Tatarstan. The campaign is aimed at expansion of ecological knowledge and fostering of responsible attitude in young generation to natural resources and environment.
On this day, the most large-scale ecological campaign in history on planting of trees starts in Nizhnekamsk. On the territory of Nizhnekamsk, namely in the yards, along major highways, and on the territories of schools it is planned to plant 17,545 trees during the first stage, including 12,687 trees in residential estates, 3,462 trees along major highways, 980 trees of compensation planting, and it is planned to plant 416 trees on the territory of educational establishments. Species composition of the planting material that will be planted in the course of the campaign “Green wave” was determined: 4715 birches, 3130 lime trees, 6417 mountain ashes, 1704 lilacs, 78 maples, 32 oaks, 53 fir trees, and 10 pines.
The main aim of organizers is to attract attention of as many as possible citizens of Nizhnekamsk to this campaign, so that every citizen can plant a tree. The information was received from the Public Relations Department and Mass Media of the Council of Nizhnekamsk Municipal District.
Inspectors of the Central Department, together with representatives of the Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office and the Office of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography of the Republic of Tatarstan, conducted a survey of the territory of the Zelenodolsk district.
The events were held in the Zainsky district. The commission included inspectors from the Zakamsky Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan received an appeal from residents about violations of environmental legislation in the Yelabuga district. Inspectors from the Kama Department went to the site and confirmed the fact of dumping production and consumption waste into the territory of the Bug River water protection zone.
