Inspectors of the South-Eastern Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan got acquainted with first-graders of School No. 3 and gymnasium named after M. E. Sergeyev. Environmental lessons were held for the students, and inspector Venera Mingaleeva told the children about how to save electricity and water and why one can't throw out used batteries. "There are toxic substances inside the battery - nickel, zinc, lead, mercury and others. Therefore, it is so important to properly dispose of these current sources so that these heavy metals do not get into the environment and do not poison the air, soil and water with heavy metals and alkalis that are released during the destruction or burning of used autonomous power sources disposed of together with household waste. Dangerous substances together with water can further enter the human body. One battery can infect 400 liters of water," said Venera Mingaleeva, inspector of the South-Eastern Territorial Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan. Now first-graders know that they can bring used batteries to school, from where they will go for recycling.
In memory of the eco-talk, inspectors of the South-Eastern Territorial Administration presented first-graders with books from the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.
