More than 800 schoolchildren will be able to take part in the first Olympiad of young ecologists "Clean Heritage"

A press conference was held today at the Tatar-Inform News Agency with the participation of Deputy Minister of Ecology Egor Tarnavsky and Head of the Department of Environmental Protection and Ecology of PJSC Tatneft Alexander Alchinov.

The Olympiad of Young Environmentalists "Pure Heritage" in 2023 is held for the first time and is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the beginning of Tatarstan oil development and the 75th anniversary of the Romashkinskoye field, as well as the Year of the Teacher and Mentor in Russia.

The organizers of the Olympiad are the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan and PJSC Tatneft named after V. D. Shashin. According to Yegor Tarnavsky, the main goal of this new eco-educational event is to form an ecological culture, popularize ecology, unite children and the adult generation in the study of ecology, popularize the movement of young naturalists. "The format of the Olympiad provides for 2 stages – correspondence and in-person learning. The correspondence stage starts on September 2. As part of this stage, the Ministry of Ecology organized an ecological marathon "In the footsteps of good Deeds". Within a month, anyone will be able to take part in clean-up days in a game format, attend an ecological tour, plant trees and become part of a real ecological festival," the Deputy Minister of Ecology said. 11 settlements of the republic in the area of activity of PJSC Tatneft named after V. D. Shashin will take part in the marathon – these are Almetyevsk, Kazan, Nurlat, Nizhnekamsk, Yelabuga, Naberezhnye Chelny, Aznakaevo, Bavly, Bugulma, Leninogorsk, Aktyuba village.

The details of the opening of the Olympiad were shared by the head of the Department of Environmental Protection and Ecology of PJSC Tatneft. On September 2, in Almetyevsk, as part of the celebration of the Oil-worker's Day, the solemn start of the Olympiad will be given by the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Olympic figure skating champion Alina Zagitova.

"The Olympiad will be divided into two age categories - grades 5-6 and 7-8. As already mentioned, the correspondence stage starts on September 2 and on the same day the eco-marathon starts in cities. Further, from the 3rd to the 24th of September, registration will take place. It is organized on the Clean Heritage website, where those who wish can register in their personal account and receive information after they have registered," Alexander Alchinov said. He added that the main part of the correspondence stage will be held on October 1 and 2. There will be 30 questions in total, the contestants will need to answer them within an hour. According to the results of the correspondence stage, 100 finalists will be determined, who will gather in early November during the autumn holidays in the "Yunost" summer camp in Almetyevsk (the maximum number of participants is 150 people, duration is 5 days). Here young ecologists will not only solve problems and tests. Round tables, master classes, excursions to the most famous places of Almetyevsk are organized for them. "In addition, an environmental quest for all participants will be held within the framework of the Olympiad. The best of them will receive wonderful prizes. I'll tell you a little secret to intrigue you that one of the prizes will be a T-shirt with autographs of Ak Bars hockey players," said the representative of PJSC Tatneft.

And a grant competition will be held for general education institutions. The winning schools will receive 100 thousand rubles each.

During the full-time period of the Olympiad, the Ministry of Ecology has planned a gathering of young naturalists of the Republic of Tatarstan, combined with the awarding ceremony of the winners of the republican contest "School Eco-patrol" in the "Solnechny" summer camp of the Almetyevsk district. As part of the rally, a platform will be organized for all participants to pass the environmental Olympiad, followed by awarding the best participants with gifts from the Ministry.
