29 August 2023, Tuesday

Today, on the eve of the Republic Day, employees of environmental agencies and representatives of public organizations were cleaning and tidying up on the banks of the Volga River near the village of Zaymishche in Kazan. Specialists of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Volga-Kama Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor, the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Biological Resources, representatives of the Executive Committee of the Oktyabrsky rural settlement of the Zelenodolsk district, and public organizations, including All-Russian Society for Nature Protection.

"We are at one of the most popular vacation spots of Tatarstan residents. After the summer season, there were mountains of garbage left here. Walking around the territory with colleagues, we noticed that large landfills in some places have already been dismantled, which is good news. Still, there is plenty of garbage here, so let's work together for the good of nature!", - urged eco-activist Anton Bortyakov.

In a couple of hours, the participants of the campaign collected more than 100 bags of garbage, dividing it into fractions. "There is a lot of household garbage here. Basically, these are plastic, glass bottles, a lot of disposable tableware and packaging. There were barbecues, chairs, car parts, even children's toys," experts of the Ministry of Ecology say.

The series of voluntary clean-ups continues! The next cleaning campaign will take place on September 6! Follow our news and join us, because ecology unites!
