10 excess hydrogen sulfide was detected by the Ministry in the northern zone of Kazan over the past week
From August 18 to August 25 at AAPCS-5, located in the residential district "Salavat Kupere" on I. Shakirov st., 10 exceedances of the MPC for hydrogen sulfide with a maximum multiplicity of 2.5 MPC were detected. A week earlier, from August 11 to August 18, 72 hydrogen sulfide exceedances and 5 carbon monoxide exceedances were recorded.
At the other stations of the Ministry located in Kazan, the excess of the MPC of pollutants was not recorded.
Also, at the request of residents, environmentalists took samples using a hand pump sampler for analysis on a wider list of substances. The results of this analysis will be known in a few days.
Let us recall that the Ministry of Ecology raised the issues of atmospheric air quality in Kazan this week at a round table on waste management, since the end of 2022, the department has received numerous appeals from citizens on the unsatisfactory state of atmospheric air in the northern zone of Kazan. There is an increase in excess pollutants, which are recorded by automatic monitoring stations. About 80% of all excess is hydrogen sulfide. Information on all recorded excesses is sent under the jurisdiction of the Department of Rospotrebnadzor in the Republic of Tatarstan, the Volga-Kama Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor and the Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office.
This issue is under the control of the head of Rosprirodnadzor Svetlana Radionova.
"I have received many complaints from residents of Kazan about the dirty air in the city. In response to this, we conducted an inspection of potential sources of pollution — LLC "UK PZhKH", JSC "TGK-16", PJSC "Kazanorgsintez", LLC "Poultry complex "Ak Bars" and LLC "Management of ethylene pipelines-Nizhnekamskneftekhim".
According to the results of the inspection, orders were issued to eliminate the detected violations, the perpetrators were brought to administrative responsibility. There are demands for additional charges for NEI in the amount of more than 18 million rubles. The damage to nature exceeded 28 million rubles.
Gross violations in the field of atmospheric air protection were revealed in PJSC "Kazanorgsintez". The inspection materials were sent to the Environmental Prosecutor's office for taking measures. We keep the situation under control," Svetlana Gennadievna said in her Telegram channel.
