Environmentalists told the children of the Zelenodolsk children's camp "Dream" what harm to the environment is caused by balloons, streamers and confetti
These days, the ecological shift "Eco-dream" is taking place in the children's health camp "Dream" of the Zelenodolsk district. For 17 days, more than 100 children will take an educational course in 6 thematic areas: ecotourism, botany, zoology, social ecology, natural resources, agriculture and entrepreneurship. As part of the shift, there are also practical classes, meetings with experts in the field of ecology, public figures, as well as teachers specializing in this field. Participants together with experts study the flora and fauna of Tatarstan, get acquainted with the social aspects of environmental problems and ways to solve them, learn about the importance of natural resources, their limitations, as well as ways to preserve and restore them. In addition, the shift participants study the basic principles of ecotourism and its differences from a simple hike, get acquainted with the ecological trails of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The staff of the Ministry of Ecology also visited the young ecologists. Olga Artemyeva, head of the Department of Environmental Education and Interaction with public organizations of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, told the children what harm balloons, streamers, ribbons, confetti and other festive merchandise cause to the environment. Balloons that fly so beautifully into the sky, then cling to trees, fall into reservoirs, where they will decompose for a long time or get into the stomachs of animals. Foil balls do not decompose at all for hundreds of years.
"Of course, it is important to hold such lectures for schoolchildren, to acquaint them with environmental problems and teach them to preserve our natural resources. At the same time, we understand that we will not be able to reach all the children, so we need to work with teachers, share our best practices with them," Olga Artemyeva said.
The organizers of the shift are the State Budgetary Institution "Republican Center "Summer" together with the Regional Youth Public Organization "It will be clean" of the Republic of Tatarstan.
