Today, specialists of the Environmental Education Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan went to the Chaika camp in the Drozhzhanovsky district. Our staff conducted a master class for 98 children of the special shift "Return to the origins". In this shift children for 3 weeks will get acquainted with the traditions and culture of the peoples of the Volga region, with the history of the development of their native land, because this year in Tatarstan has been declared the Year of National Cultures and Traditions.
"In any tradition there is a connection with nature and our surrounding world. And this is not accidental, because traditions arise, including under the influence of nature, and the development of the native land should always go in close relationship with concerns about environmental protection. Only in such a tandem will we be able to achieve a favorable environmental situation in our beloved Tatarstan. Local events make up one big thing," said Anastasia Merdyukova, a leading specialist of the Environmental Education Department.
Today, our staff conducted an introductory lecture on separate waste collection for the children and consolidated their knowledge at a master class. We also introduced schoolchildren to the Ministry of Ecology competitions - this is the "School Ecopatrul", a competition for collecting batteries, contests for young naturalists and much more. All the children were encouraged to participate more actively in such events.
The students, in turn, noted that they help nature and ecology by virtue of their capabilities: they try to sort waste, participate in the collection of waste paper in their schools, collect used batteries. "We are very glad that today we were told how many years it takes for plastic or glass to decompose, how difficult it is for nature to recycle such waste. We learned why the launch of balloons is an unecological tradition and how garbage differs from recyclables. It's great that there are such master classes!" the guys noted.
