Congratulations to the young naturalists on the day of the creation of the movement!

15 June 2023, Thursday

Every year on June 15, a very warm and important holiday is celebrated in our country – the Day of the Young Naturalist. Exactly 105 years ago, an organized excursion for young naturalists took place in Sokolniki for the first time. This event marked the birth of an extracurricular institution – a station for young nature lovers. The development of the movement proceeded at a rapid pace. A year later, four circles were opened: "Gardeners" (botanists), "Birdmen" (ornithologists), "Insects" (entomologists), "Water lovers" (hydrobiologists). The station itself was later renamed the Timiryazev Central Biostation of Young Naturalists. Each member of the movement had a badge and observed a code consisting of eight commandments, the main of which were to observe nature, keep records and strive for truthfulness.

More than one generation of well-known nature researchers, scientists, such as breeders, agronomists, biologists of various specializations and ecologists, known all over the world, grew up from among Soviet young scientists.

Since 2018, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, together with the regional youth public organization "It will be Clean" and the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Tatarstan, have been working to activate the activities of the movement of young naturalists in the Republic of Tatarstan. At the moment, the number of young naturalists is over 2000 people. These are guys from 33 municipal districts. Clubs and competitions are organized annually for them, in which teachers can also take part, as well as excursion programs to national parks and nature reserves. Since last year, the ranks of Tatarstan young naturalists have also been joined by the young soldiers, these two teenage movements have signed a cooperation agreement.
