Within the framework of the regional ecological week of the X Nevsky International Ecological Congress, two clean-ups, the Eco-Wave forum and environmental lessons in schools were held in Tatarstan. Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Egor Tarnavsky told about the regional environmental week in Tatarstan at a press conference at the Republican Agency for Press and Mass Communications "Tatmedia".
Since 2008, the Nevsky International Ecological Congress has been held in St. Petersburg. It is dedicated to ecology and is held under the auspices of the Government of Russia, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation. This year the congress was held from May 25 to May 26. On the eve of the Nevsky Congress, regional environmental weeks were held in the regions of the Russian Federation, more than 30 different events were organized in Tatarstan throughout the republic. On May 24, on the "youth Day", representatives of the regional association "It will be Clean" took part in the plenary sessions of the congress and discussed topical issues of environmental movements. More than 2 thousand representatives of various youth ecological communities were involved in the event on this day. And on May 25, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov became a participant of the round table "Water is the main resource of the future" in St. Petersburg.
"On the eve of the Nevsky Ecological Congress, a regional ecological week was announced in the republic. On May 20, a clean-up dedicated to the "Volga Day" was held in our region as part of the All-Russian campaign "Water of Russia", the deputy minister said. He noted that Tatarstan has been actively participating in the campaign since 2019 and has been a leader for the past two years.
In addition, the VII Republican Forum of Youth Environmental organizations of the Republic of Tatarstan "ECO wave" was organized in Tatarstan. Its participants were 143 eco-activists from 27 districts and 63 environmental organizations of the Republic of Tatarstan. Within the framework of the forum, educational and discussion platforms, experience exchange events and meetings with experts were organized for activists.
Specialists of the territorial departments of the Ministry conducted environmental lessons in schools. Among the most active participants are Baltasinsky, Aznakaevsky and Alekseevsky districts. Environmental lessons "The Second Life of plastic" were held in Nizhnekamsk. Employees of Nizhnekamskneftekhim told sixth graders about the environmental friendliness of polymers, the possibilities of their recycling and separate waste collection.
Kazan also joined the All-Russian campaign "Clean up after yourself", timed to coincide with the X Nevsky International Environmental Congress. About 160 eco-volunteers went to the bank of the Kazanka River and collected 100 bags of garbage. Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Victoria Abramchenko and Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko got in direct contact with the participants of the clean-up.
"During the direct communication, we were called the flagship region," said Yegor Tarnavsky.
The clean-up day on the city beach in Kazan became the final event of the eco-week in Tatarstan, dedicated to the X Nevsky Ecological Congress.
