100 bags of garbage were collected by participants of the "Clean up after yourself" campaign in Kazan

Today Kazan joined the All-Russian campaign "Clean up after yourself". About 160 eco-volunteers came to the shore of the Kazanka River to clear the Lower Zarechye beach of garbage.

Clean Up After Yourself clean-ups are held in 48 regions of Russia, flagship events were held in Tatarstan, Chuvashia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Vologda, Kemerovo, Nizhny Novgorod, Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk, Lipetsk, Omsk regions.

Deputy Minister Yegor Tarnavsky addressed the participants of the campaign in Kazan with a welcoming speech on behalf of the Minister of Ecology. "Today, on the final day of the X Nevsky International Ecological Congress, we are holding an event to clean up the coastal territory. Tatarstan, along with other regions, will take part in a teleconference with the participants of the congress," the Deputy Minister said.

The event was held within the framework of the campaign "Water of Russia" of the federal project "Preservation of unique water bodies" of the national project "Ecology". Let us recall that the Republic has been ranked first among all regions of Russia in this campaign for two years in a row.

"In Tatarstan, traditionally, since the earliest spring over the past 15-20 years, active work has been carried out to improve the territories and clean them of garbage accumulated over the winter. Young people take an active part in environmental campaigns and clean-ups," says Damir Valiullin, Head of the Department of Information Systems and Environmental Education of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Victoria Abramchenko and Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko came into direct contact with the participants of the campaign.

Activists and volunteers collected about 100 bags of garbage, dividing it into fractions: glass, metal, plastic and unsorted waste, and the bottom of the river was cleaned by divers of the Russian Geographical Society.

In 1.5 hours we cleared the territory, watched the concert program, were treated to porridge and tea with pies and received prizes.

The All-Russian campaign "Clean up after yourself" was initiated by the Public Law Company "Russian Environmental Operator" with the support of the "Do It!" movement. The organizers in Kazan are the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Tatarstan and the Youth Environmental Movement "It will be Clean".
