Environmentalists sent a statement of claim to the court in connection with violations identified at the Cascade of Ponds in Almetyevsk
According to repeated complaints of Almetyevsk residents about the presence of foam and oil stains on the surface of the reservoir in the Cascade of Ponds Park, ecologists of the South-Eastern Territorial Administration carried out a number of visits to survey the territory of the 1st stage of the Cascade of Ponds on Shevchenko Street. According to the results of the sample analysis, significant excesses were detected for petroleum products, ammonium and detergents. It was also found that the source of pollution is an unattended storm sewer. Presumably, enterprises located in close proximity to the cascade of ponds have organized drainage with the arrangement of an underground outlet into the reservoir in the "stormwater drainage" system. Environmentalists have prepared a claim to the Executive Committee of Almetyevsk, according to which the local government had to identify and assign the operating organization to the orphan networks. However, the Executive Committee did not fulfill the conditions of the claim within the prescribed period. In this regard, environmentalists sent a statement of claim to the Almetyevsk City Court with a demand to the City Executive Committee to ensure proper operation of the unattended drainage system, to ensure recognition of municipal property rights and to take measures to prevent the discharge of untreated storm sewage from the sewer network into the city cascade of ponds without permits for discharge.As a result of a hard struggle, Yulia Kalganova, a leading adviser to the Department of Information Geological Resources and Monitoring of the geological environment, won the tournament.
