The Skolkovo Technopark hosts the International Forum-Exhibition "Clean Country" — the most important event in support of the national project "Ecology". The organizer of the forum is the Association "Clean Country" with the participation of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia.
Today, at a round table, representatives of Russian regions, experts and organizers discussed key issues and plans for the further implementation of the national project "Ecology". Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Ecology Egor Tarnavsky noted that the federal project "Improvement of the Volga" is one of the key and most capital-intensive projects.
He elaborated on the activities implemented in Tatarstan within the framework of this federal project. So, in 2021, thanks to the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, the implementation of a unique project to eliminate a large object of accumulated environmental damage located in the water protection zone of the Kuibyshev reservoir – these are the silt fields of biological treatment facilities in Kazan. For half a century, 4 million cubic meters of sludge have been accumulated on an area of about 100 hectares.
"Another major object that has a negative impact on the Volga is the inactive pipelines of the Ozernoye oil field. They were flooded after the reservoir level was raised and could pose a threat not only to the river, but also to a quarter of the population of the Republic of Tatarstan. The cost of dismantling pipelines is 930.5 million rubles, of which 200 million rubles is extra-budgetary financing of RITEK LLC," the Deputy minister noted.
"Our main goal is to reduce the share of polluted wastewater diverted to the Volga by 3 times. We must minimize the damage that has been inflicted on this river for decades in order to ensure a better ecological future for all residents of our country," concluded Yegor Tarnavsky.
Olga Lopatina, head of the project offices of the federal projects "Volga Rehabilitation" and "Preservation of Unique Water Bodies", separately thanked the Ministry of Ecology and noted our department for the early start of activities and a high degree of readiness to eliminate accumulated damage objects that pose a threat to the Volga – these are silt fields and dismantling of pipelines.
