For reference:
Heavy mineral concentrate sampling is one of the main methods used in the course of search of diamond and other deposits. It is designed to detect minerals that indicate the metallizing process, to establish haloes of their dispersion, to solve a series of general geological problems related to identification of the source and ways of ablation of friable materials, as well as to establish favorable mineralogical associations. Heavy mineral concentrate is visually examined directly in the course of the washing process.
