Today is World Wetlands Day
Every year, on February 2, the World Wetlands Day is celebrated. The main purpose of this day is to draw attention to these special objects.
Specially for this day, employees of the territorial departments of the Ministry conducted environmental lessons.
Inspectors of the Central TA of the Ministry visited the preschool children of the kindergarten "Smart Children" of the Laishevsky district and told the kids how to identify the swamp, what grows on them and who lives there. In memory of the lesson, the guys made a frog – one of the inhabitants of the swamps.
But for the pupils of the Kachelinsky kindergarten of the Arsky district, ecologists of the Northern TA have prepared a musical and ecological program "Journey into the world of nature".
5th grade students of Gymnasium No. 77 of Naberezhnye Chelny on this day learned from the specialists of the Kama TA Ministry that swamps are very important for our planet. Sometimes they are called the "lungs of the planet", because they absorb more carbon dioxide from the air than the forest.
At the end of the lessons, all the children received memorable prizes from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.
