14 districts of the republic have already passed the audit of underground sources of drinking water supply

24 January 2023, Tuesday

Mars Valiev, Head of "NPO Geocenter RT" State Institution reported on the audit assessment of drinking water supply sources at the final board of the Ministry. In 2021, a pilot project was implemented in Tatarstan for the audit assessment of Apastovsky and Kaibitsky districts within the framework of the state program.
"During the work on the territory of the two districts, the most promising water intakes for licensing were identified, which had no restrictions on the sanitary situation and water quality, 31 sets of sanitary and technical documentation were prepared for such intakes to issue a license for the right to extract groundwater," the director of the State Institution noted.
This pilot project made it possible to develop an algorithm for solving the problem of providing high-quality water supply to rural settlements.
To replicate the results of the pilot project, as well as to structure and solve the problems identified by the audit in these areas, with the support of Tatarstan President R. N. Minnikhanov, funds were allocated for the audit of underground water supply sources in other regions of the Republic for 2022-2024.
The activities of the program "Providing the rural population with high-quality drinking water from underground sources" are planned to be carried out in 2 stages:
Stage 1 includes:
- Survey of all water intakes providing water supply to rural settlements on the territory of the republic;
- Laboratory studies of groundwater;
- Ranking of surveyed water intakes according to the degree of their prospects and the possibility of licensing;
- Development of recommendations on the arrangement of prospective water intakes, optimization of water supply systems and, if necessary, setting up search and evaluation works.
Stage 2 includes:
- Carrying out a complete chemical analysis of water, including bacteriological and radiological indicators at water intakes that are promising for further operation and licensing;
- Preparation of a set of technical documentation for licensing.
In 2022, the State Institution surveyed 12 more districts. These are Arsky, Atninsky, Baltasinsky, Vysokogorsky, Verkhneuslonsky, Buinsky, Drozhzhanovsky, Laishevsky, Pestrechinsky, Zelenodolsk and others. Taking into account the pilot project, the audit was carried out on the territory of 14 districts, 1629 water points were surveyed. The
audit assessment carried out by the forces of the "NPO Geocenter RT" State Inspection revealed that the most common violation is the unsatisfactory condition of water intake facilities and the 1st belt of the sanitary protection zone (SPZ). The solution to the problem could be the construction of pavilions over wells. "Let me remind you that in accordance with the sanitary requirements for the size of the SPZ, the radius of the first belt should be 30 meters for wells and 50 for springs and should be fenced, excluding the free entry of outsiders," Mars Valeev reminded the heads of districts.
He called on the heads of municipalities to issue licenses for water intake wells as soon as possible, because this guarantees the quality of drinking water. In 2023-2024, it is planned to complete the audit of the districts, after which a roadmap will be created to solve the tasks of providing the population with high-quality water.
