New modes of operation of reservoirs of the Volga-Kama cascade were discussed today at a meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group

Rosvodresurs held the first meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on regulation of the operation modes of reservoirs of the Volga-Kama cascade this year. The Republic of Tatarstan was represented by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic Alexander Shadrikov and a representative of JSC Tatenergo.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of Rosrybolovstvo, Rosmorrechflot, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, Roshydromet and other departments, as well as representatives of executive authorities of Yaroslavl, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Volgograd, Astrakhan and other regions.

The meeting discussed the issue of establishing the operating modes of the hydroelectric reservoirs of the Volga-Kama cascade for the period from January 21 to February 10. It should be noted that from December 11, 2022 to January 16 of this year, the reservoir was gradually drawn down with an intensity of about 1 cm per day.

Rosvodresursami proposed to extend the operating mode of the Kuibyshev reservoir with an average discharge flow rate of 4800 ±100 cubic meters/s for the period.

Taking into account the developing hydrological and water management situation in the basin of the Volga-Kama cascade, the Ministry supported the modes of operation of hydraulic units proposed by Rosvodresurs. The established modes of operation of hydroelectric reservoirs will be published on the official website of Rosvodresurs.
