Ecologically and economically

Today, inspectorsoftheCentralTerritorialDepartmentundertheMinistryofEcologyandNaturalResourcesoftheRepublicofTatarstanconductedaraidtothesitesofseparate waste collection. Today, there are 27 equipped points in Kazan. Suchwastecollectionsystemwillallowtousecardboard, glassware,polyethylene as recoverable resources, which will significantly reduce the extent of waste without increasing its impact on the environment.

KazanExecutiveCommitteeplans on implementing a 4-stage separate waste collection system including:

 - Placementof containers for separate waste collection in the sites ofaccumulationof small trade companies with area less than 150 square meters. Asoftoday, largecompaniesseparateandsellwastesindependently, while small companies combine production waste with consumption wastein the sites of household waste collection. (Itisplannedtoplace 450 containers on the territory of the city).

- Construction of the station for reception of separated waste. Assumed dislocation for construction of four stations is now being approved of by KazanExecutiveCommittee. 

- Approval and implementation of the system of waste movement accounting on the territory of municipal formation of Kazan, creation ofinterdepartmental commission, as well as elaboration of the regulatory system.

- Implementation of a differentiated system of payment for collection, removal, recovery and placement of waste on the territory of municipal formation of Kazan. Activation of economic stimuli in order to reduce the extent of waste formation and separation.

According to ecological specialists, placement of containers is only a part of the big process. Inordertoachievepositiveresultsitisnecessarythat each and every citizenunderstands and takes active part.
