ArtemSidorov: “Wearetalkingabouthealth maintenance of our population”

An offsite meeting of the Board of Directors ofОАО “Tatneftekhiminvest-holding” took place today in Kazan. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov chaired the meeting. Theresults of the work of oil, gas and petrochemical complex of Tatarstanwere summarized for the first half of 2013, and the activity of the group of companies “Nefis” was viewed in detail.
TheMinisterfor Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Sidorov reported on the main ecological tasks aimed at decrease of man-induced impact on air, water and land resources.

AccordingtotheMinisterofEcology, thecomplexofeffectivemeasureswasdevelopedandimplementedatОАО “NefisCosmetics”in order to ensure ecological safety, including elimination of the use of raw materialswith specific odor - soap stock andhydrofuse, fundamental reconstruction of soap-production plantwith implementation of the best available technologies, implementation of the modern gas treatment systemsand a series of other measures. Aseriesoftargetnatureprotectionprogramsisimplementedincooperationwithecological services of the leadingcompanies of the republic(includingОАО“TATNEFT”, “TAIF-NK”, “Nizhnekamskneftekhim”, “Kazanorgsintez”); ecologization of productionis ensured along with transfer to the international ecological standards.

AccordingtoArtemSidorov, gas filling stations are ofparticular risk to the environment. Contaminantsthatcausevariousdiseasescomefromgas filling stations.

Ontheterritoryofgasfillingstations and adjacent areas, the concentrationof contaminants can reach and exceedthreshold criteria.

Moreover, from the ecological point of view, predominant location of gasfillingstations in large cities in close proximity to residential premises is one of the main negative factors.

Insuchaway, outof 649 gasfillingstations, retailingof motor oil on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, 469 gasfillingstations(more than 70%) are located in urban settlements.

Tothatextent, gasfillingstations in the Republic of Tatarstan are now being equipped with the systems of recuperation. Until 2015, it is planned to equip all the gas filling stations located in Kazan, Nabereznye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk and Almetyevsk with the systems of recuperation.

By 2020 it is planned to re-equip all the stations located in other urban settlements.

“Implementation of this project is, first of all, of nature protection and social nature, since we are talking about health maintenance of our population”, emphasized Artem Sidorov.
