In the city of Mamadysh, work on clearing the right tributary of the Vyatka River has been completed. Environmental protection measures were launched in 2021 within the framework of the federal project "Conservation of unique water bodies" of the national project "Ecology". Rosvodresursy allocated more than 74 million rubles to restore the riverbed. Thanks to the clearing, environmental living conditions have improved for 15 thousand residents of the district center.
"The project provided for the clearing of more than 3 kilometers of the riverbed from bottom sediments, as well as the extraction of firewood, the removal of excess aquatic vegetation. These decisions have made it possible to improve the sanitary condition of the Vyatka inflow, reduce the negative impact on the surrounding area", – said the deputy head of Rosvodresursy Natalia Sologub.
Let us recall that the right tributary of the Vyatka flows completely within the borders of the Mamadyshsky district of Tatarstan, local residents often come to the riverbank to rest and fish. In addition, water is used for drinking and household water supply. The high anthropogenic load has led to the fact that the riverbed has silted up, and pollutants have accumulated in the bottom sediments. A survey before the start of clearing showed that up to 80% of the water area was covered with duckweed and overgrown with shrubs and reeds.
As noted by the Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Tatarstan Egor Tarnavsky within the framework of the federal project "Preservation of unique water bodies" of the national project "Ecology", several more events are being implemented and 3 of them are being completed this year. "We have already completed the cleaning of the pond in the village of Derzhavino, Laishevsky district. The right tributary of the river Mesha was cleared at the village of Nikolskoye of the same district. The All-Russian Festival of Russian Folklore, the national holiday "Karavon" takes place here every year and, of course, it is very significant for local residents. This is a historical place, loved by many. In the autumn we carried out the final work here – replenished the biological resources in these reservoirs." In 2022-2023, it is planned to clear the Bersut riverbed near the village of Kamsky Lespromkhoz of Mamadyshsky district. This year, work has started and the project will have to be cleared with a length of 7 km. Also, within the framework of the federal project "Preservation of unique water bodies", since 2019, measures are being implemented to clean the shores of water bodies by volunteers. According to the results of 2021, Tatarstan took 1st place in the federal action "Water of Russia" of the federal project "Preservation of unique water bodies".
This year, more than 455 thousand volunteers took part in coastal cleanup activities.
