Starting this year, municipal budgetary institutions of Tatarstan will be able to dispose of outdated equipment for free within the framework of the new federal project "School of Recycling: Electronics". Olga Artemyeva, Head of the Environmental Education Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, told reporters more about the project.
"On September 1, within the framework of the Tatarstan Petrochemical forum, we signed an agreement with the Fund for Rational Use of Natural Resources. Now we will dispose of all the equipment of municipal budget institutions — kindergartens and schools — free of charge," the speaker said at a press conference in Tatmedia.
Olga Artemyeva added that the main goal of the federal program is to provide residents with an opportunity to transfer equipment that has served its time for recycling in an environmentally friendly and convenient way. So, not only authorities, budget institutions, but also everyone can dispose of electronics waste. Experience has shown that the Soviet model of collecting scrap metal and waste paper is also effective for collecting electronics, the fastest growing type of waste. We continue this tradition, all participants have the opportunity to prove themselves. At the end of the year, the Fund for Rational Nature Management will summarize the results and award the most active. The project was launched in September, it's too early to talk about its results, but now schools are actively registering, employees of educational institutions are pleasantly surprised that now the disposal of old equipment is carried out for free.
