Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation Alexander Kozlov paid a working visit to Tatarstan today.
He got acquainted with the progress of work carried out within the framework of the national project "Ecology". During the working flight, he was accompanied by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov. The head of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia inspected the Samosyrov SMW landfill, where reclamation works have been underway since last year as part of the federal Clean Country project. As Alexander Kozlov noted, the reclamation of the landfill will first of all have a positive impact on the quality of life of many Tatarstan residents. "We see that the decision was made correctly. Almost 350 thousand people live near this landfill. What the builders are doing here today will affect the quality of people's lives." Another object that the Minister of Natural Resources of Russia visited today is the silt fields of BOSK of Kazan. "In 2021, we had a meeting with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. We agreed that the national project, which is aimed at improving the Volga, the national project, which is aimed at supporting cities associated with cleaning abandoned landfills in Kazan, should be supported. And today we are monitoring the implementation of the decisions we agreed on. Today we see that the construction complex in Kazan has been fully mobilized, we have resolved the issue of financing for 3 years, and in 2024 all these silt fields should be completely reclaimed, planted, there should be green lawns. And the important issue that I spoke about at the board is that Kazan will finally get access to the Volga River," Alexander Shadrikov added that when the work ends (this is 2024), the quality of life will improve for 1.2 million people who live nearby. The total readiness of the facility is 20.16%. At the moment, sheet piles are being hammered, slab coverings are being arranged, maps are being cleaned.
