5 September 2022, Monday

Within the framework of the federal project "Preservation of unique water bodies" of the national project "Ecology", a clean-up day was held to clean the banks of the Kama River in the village of Imenkovo, Laishevsky district. The event is organized by the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Tatarstan with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. Despite the windy weather, 70 activists who are not indifferent to the environment – students of the Laishevsky Technical and Economic College, volunteers, local residents and vacationers – came out to clean up. In addition, Malaysian students who came to Kazan for the Global Youth Summit took part in the campaign. "Tatarstan has a very beautiful nature, beautiful forests, rivers. We are very glad to have the opportunity to take part in such a necessary environmental action," the delegates from Malaysia shared their emotions.

With joint efforts, 107 bags of garbage were collected. On the way, the participants met classic picnic sets – these are disposable plates, spoons and cups, juice packs and plastic bottles in large quantities.

The next campaign is planned to be held on September 17 at Lake Emerald in Kazan. Follow our news, we will definitely make an announcement of the voluntary clean-up on our website!
