Bashkir oil workers continue to replenish fish populations in the reservoirs of the republic
The next stage of stocking the Nizhnekamsk reservoir was carried out by employees of Bashneft-Dobycha LLC. From the shore of Naberezhnye Chelny, oilmen with representatives of the Middle Volga Territorial Administration of Rosrybolovstvo, sent almost a thousand carp fry on a long voyage.
This is not the first initiative to replenish the carp population in the Nizhnekamsk reservoir for the company, Last autumn, Bashkir oilmen released 8.1 thousand fingerlings of this type of fish into the reservoir. The fish was not chosen by chance, it was recommended by experts of the regional department of the Federal Agency for Fisheries, according to whom the growth of the carp population at the present time will be the most optimal for preserving the ecological balance and biological diversity of the Nizhnekamsk reservoir.
"We carry out artificial stocking of reservoirs of our republic systematically – on the basis of scientific recommendations of experts of the state research Institute of lake and river fisheries. The place of stocking and the optimal number of individuals were determined by the scientists of the Institute on the basis of scientific calculations based on the results of a survey of reservoirs. This approach allows us to be confident in three very subtle aspects of artificial replenishment of aquatic biological resources. The first is that the release of juvenile fish in places determined by science made it possible to minimize the anthropogenic impact on the environment as effectively as possible. The second is that there are enough biological resources in the places of release to feed the number of fry that were released. And the third is that the number of released fry will not destroy the natural food base that ensures the survival of other fish species," says Ildar Khametshin, inspector of the Department of State Control, Supervision and Protection of Aquatic and Biological Resources in the Republic of Tatarstan of the Srednevolzhsky Territorial Administration of Rosrybolovstvo.
Let us recall that Bashneft-Dobycha started implementing large-scale environmental initiatives in the regions of its presence in 2020 (in Tatarstan, the company produces oil on the territory of the Bavli and Yutazinsky districts). In less than three years, the Bashneft mining division has released more than 900 thousand fry of valuable fish species into the reservoirs of the Urals and the Volga region. More than 200 thousand of them were released into the reservoirs of the Republic of Tatarstan. In the Kuibyshev and Nizhnekamsk reservoirs, the company released almost 105 thousand sterlet fingerlings, another 89 thousand fry replenished the population of this fish in the Belaya River. In addition to the sterlet listed in the Red Book, oilmen released more than 9 thousand carp fry into the Nizhnekamsk reservoir.
