Specialists of the Zavolzhsky territorial Administration and the Volga-Kama Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor conducted a survey of oil sludge barns (previously there was an asphalt plant there) in the Karatunsky rural settlement. The area of the contaminated site is 1.54 hectares. There are residential buildings near this territory, and the Sviyaga River is a natural monument half a kilometer away.
Due to the fact that this object of accumulated damage poses a threat to the environment, design and estimate documentation was developed for the reclamation of land with oil-containing pollution, with an estimated cost of 37.6 million rubles. Currently, work is underway to prepare materials for passing the state environmental assessment.
This work is being carried out to resolve the issue of cleaning the territory from oil sludge with a view to further inclusion in the Federal project "Overall Cleaning" of the national project "Ecology".
