Let us recall that the Ministry received a complaint that the local lake was painted pink. On August 1, inspectors of the Central Territorial Administration and specialists of the laboratory of the Ministry of Ecology went to the Zelenodolsk district following complaints from residents. At the time of the survey of the territory no fish kill was detected, there was no pink tint on the surface of the water. Experts have taken samples of natural water. The sample was analyzed according to 13 indicators: pH, dissolved oxygen, COD, ammonium, nitrites, nitrates, chlorides, sulfates, phosphate ion (for phosphorus), petroleum products, phenol, iron, manganese. According to the results of the analysis, the maximum permissible concentration for phenol was found to be 2.9 times higher, which is typical for the period of rapid "flowering" of blue-green algae.
The samples were taken again the next day. According to the results of this sample analysis, the maximum permissible concentration for phenol was found to be 6.9 times higher.
Minor excesses in sulfates and manganese were also detected, they are characteristic of many water bodies of the republic and characterize a high natural background.
