Within the framework of the "Preservation of unique water bodies" federal project of the "Ecology" national project, a campaign to clean the banks and bottom of the Volga River in the Kama Estuary was held. The organizers of the ecological clean-up are the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Tatarstan with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Despite the hot weather, more than 70 eco-volunteers came to take part in the campaign and soak up the positive vibes. Local residents, activists and volunteers put things in order on land, and the bottom of the river was cleaned by divers of the Tatarstan branch of the RGS. Together, the participants of the campaign managed to collect about 40 bags of garbage. "It's summer now, people are eager to get to nature, but, unfortunately, not all of them remember the basic rules: if you left litter– clean up after yourself! Therefore, what we have collected today is mainly disposable tableware, plastic bottles, napkins – everything that remains after picnics. There are other finds in the water. Today, for example, divers found a baby stroller, or rather what was left of it," said Andrey Agarkov, Deputy Chairman of the RGS in the Republic of Tatarstan.
All participants of the environmental clean-up were fed pilaf. The field kitchen was organized by the Executive Committee of the Kamsko-Ustinsky district.
The next eco-campaign will take place on August 12 on the lake Lesnoye in the Aviastroitelny district of Kazan. The beginning is at 9:30, we are waiting for everyone!
