15 July 2022, Friday

Today, representatives of the Environmental Management and Environmental Protection Service of the Astrakhan Region visited the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan on a working visit. Colleagues were clearly shown the work of automatic stations for monitoring atmospheric air pollution and a mobile environmental laboratory.

Today, the analysis of air pollution is carried out in a continuous mode with the help of 16 automatic air pollution control stations (AAPCS), providing more than 4 million measurements per year for 36 pollutants, if necessary, the list can be expanded to 59 substances.  The Ministry also uses 6 mobile environmental laboratories equipped with automatic equipment similar to the equipment of AAPCS to promptly respond to the unsatisfactory state of the atmospheric air, including when citizens' appeals are received. In addition to monitoring the state of atmospheric air online, sampling is carried out manually with subsequent analysis in 8 stationary analytical laboratories of the Ministry. The data received by the Ministry are supplemented by the results of observations of air pollution at the AAPCS enterprises of the republic.

As Oleg Filippov, Head of the Environmental Supervision Department of the Astrakhan Environmental Management Service, noted, Tatarstan's experience will certainly be in demand in future work. Now in Astrakhan, they are only planning to introduce mobile laboratories into the work of AAPCS.

Alexander Shadrikov told the participants of the meeting in more detail about all the projects and developments of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan. He emphasized that the Ministry always relies primarily on scientific research and works in close conjunction with scientists from both the Tatarstan and Russian Academies of Sciences. "The result of such joint work has already become a pilot project to improve the ecological condition of the Kazanka River. The project is really in demand. We see a high demand of the population for ecology. The social significance is evidenced by the fact that in the rating of the popular vote conducted by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, this work took the first place," said the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Alexander Shadrikov also stressed the importance of ecological and educational work, thanks to which the number of both eco-activists and simply not indifferent to environmental issues of Tatarstan is growing from year to year.  This direction aroused particular interest from the Acting Head of the Environmental Management and Environmental Protection Service, Rumil Yunusov. He said that in the Astrakhan region they have yet to build such work with the population. Colleagues were also interested in the Tatarstan development of the "Hydro Cascade", which shows and predicts the work of the entire Volga-Kama cascade in real time. The Ministry's specialists promised to help and share their experience in all areas of work.
