Inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan took water samples in the Bezymyanny and Kazarinsky streams, which for a long time were directly exposed to the landfill of rubber products.

Let us recall that in 2020, the Ministry of Ecology, within the framework of the federal program "Clean Country" of the national project "Ecology", began the reclamation of an unauthorized landfill, the total area of which was 35 hectares. This is a former landfill of rubber products, which for a long time, being the object of accumulated harm, literally poisoned nearby reservoirs.

The situation in 2018 was aggravated by a fire, because even after the elimination of an open fire, the landfill smouldered for several more months. The samples taken by environmentalists at that time showed that the water in the Bezymyanny and Kazarinsky streams did not meet the requirements established for water bodies. Exceedances of the maximum permissible concentration of substances were recorded for such indicators as: sulfates – by five times, iron – by 87 times, copper – by 23 times, zinc – by 42 times, exceedances for manganese were 195 MAC. The pollution was directly related to the impact of the landfill.

During the reclamation, which was completed in 2021, all tires, rubber blocks and rubber sintered after the fire were sent for recycling, and the landfill area was reclaimed in an environmentally friendly way. It took a short time for complete rehabilitation and today environmentalists state that the water in the streams has been cleared of pollutants. According to recent studies, the content of sulfates, iron, copper, zinc and manganese, as well as other substances, is normal.

Thus, the "Clean Country" allowed not only to clean up the territory, but also returned clean streams to Nizhnekamsk and revived springs that were clogged again at this place after all the restoration work. Changes in the quality of life for the better were felt by 238 thousand residents of the republic.
