In Pechishchi, they began to quickly remove garbage from the karst sinkhole
This morning, workers began to sort out the garbage accumulated in the karst hole of the village of Pechishche.
Let us recall that on the eve of the inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Tatarstan went to the Verkhneuslonsky district to check complaints about the storage of garbage in karst holes at the mine site near the village of Pechishchi. The information was confirmed. The district administration had to take out the garbage before July 4 and restrict the access of vehicles. The work started today.

For several centuries and until the 80s of the twentieth century, industrial extraction of lime and lime stone was carried out on the right bank of the Volga near the settlement of Pechishchi. As a result of mining, tunnels with a length of several tens of kilometers were formed. In the last 30 years, as a result of the collapse of the tunnels, the ground subsidence occurs, including sinkholes.
Taking into account the proximity of the Pechishchinsky geological section and the popularity of these places among vacationers, municipal authorities have repeatedly taken actions to ensure the safety of people – fencing the failure site, installing information signs.
