Environmentalists and volunteers will go rafting on the Kazanka River to clean up the river
This year the eco-float is timed to the scientific project of the Ministry "Improvement of the ecological state of rivers and reservoirs of the Republic of Tatarstan".
And for the first time such an ecological hike along the river took place in 2021 and was then organized within the framework of the Kazanka Development Strategy project: 47 activists collected 50 bags of garbage weighing 310 kilograms and swam 11.5 kilometers.
This year the ecological rafting starts on June 25. Within two days, dozens of eco-activists on two large catamarans will sail along the Kazanka River to remove debris that got into the river and clear the riverbed from fallen trees. Employees of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, representatives of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Tatarstan and activists will take part in the rafting.
"This is an environmentally important and necessary matter. If you and I do not actively help and carry out such events, do not clean up the river from garbage, then all this will go downstream and end up in the Volga," says Vyacheslav Dolgov, head of the Department for the Protection of Water Bodies of the Ministry.
The eco-hike route is divided into 2 sections and passes through the Vysokogorsky district. The route will start from the village of Dachnoye in the Vysokogorsky district of Tatarstan, and will finish near the Blue Lakes.

The ecological rafting was organized by the Tatarstan branch of the Russian Geographical Society with the active support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Directorate of Parks and Squares of the capital of Tatarstan, the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Biological Resources, the Youth Department of the Kazan Diocese, local self-government bodies of the Vysokogorsky Municipal District, the Regional Operator of LLC "CC "PZhKH".

The pilot project of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan to improve the ecological condition of rivers and reservoirs of the Republic of Tatarstan started this year.
Within the framework of the project, information on the composition of the surface waters of the Kazanka River is collected and analyzed, the causes and sources of negative impact on the river are determined, surveys, mapping, zoning of the catchment area of the Kazanka River are carried out.
The executor of the 1st stage of the project is the Tatarstan Branch of the Russian Geographical Society, which received a regional grant from the Russian Geographical Society for the work, and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.
From the implementation of the project "Improvement of the ecological state of rivers and reservoirs of the Republic of Tatarstan", it is expected to reduce the intake of pollutants, including with diffuse runoff, and qualitative improvement of the condition of water bodies.
