A new visitor center has been opened in the Borovets Forest on the basis of the Ship Grove tourist complex of the Lower Kama National Park. The event was held on the eve of World Environment Day. The opening was attended by Deputy Minister of Ecology Olga Manidicheva. Also honored guests were Rinara Mutygulina, Head of the Department for support and implementation of the federal project "Conservation of Biological Diversity and Development of Ecological Tourism" of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Roszapovedcenter", Lilia Gainutdinova, Deputy head of the Volga-Kama Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor, and representatives of the administration of Naberezhnye Chelny and Tukayevsky district.
The construction of this facility was implemented within the framework of the federal project "Conservation of biological diversity and development of ecological tourism" of the national project "Ecology". The new visitor center has created excellent conditions for organizing environmental education, conducting conservational and environmental awareness events that promote a sense of responsibility and patriotism, improving the overall cultural level of visitors to protected areas and the level of their ecological culture.
In her welcoming speech, Olga Manidicheva noted that the visit center should become a place of attraction for tourists. It will create all conditions for an unforgettable encounter with the nature of the national park, its history and cultural heritage, and will also promote the development of eco-tourism.
For reference: The Lower Kama National Park was established by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 223 of April 20, 1991. Its territory consists of 6 plots with a total area of 26455 hectares. Five plots, of which three are woodlands – Tanaevsky Forest, Maly Bor and Bolshoy Bor – and two sections of the Kama floodplain – Yelabuga and Tanaevsky meadows – are located on the right bank of the Kama River in the Yelabuga district of the republic near the city of Yelabuga. One site, the Borovetsky Forest, is located on the left bank of the Kama River (Nizhnekamsk reservoir) in the Tukayevsky district near the city of Naberezhnye Chelny.
