Specialists of the Laboratory of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan conducted scheduled monitoring of the hydrobiological state of rivers
Studies were carried out on zooplankton indicators. Zooplankton are microscopic organisms (rotifers and crustaceans) that live in the water column and are not capable of active movement. According to the state of the zooplankton community, it is possible to identify violations that occur in the ecosystem.
Experts studied the selected water samples in the Mesha, Ashit and Kazanki rivers, and also determined the degree of contamination and the class of water quality.
The results of laboratory studies have shown that the water in the Ashit River is conditionally clean; on the Mesha and Kazanka rivers the water is slightly polluted.
Let us recall that a pilot project "Improving the ecological state of rivers and reservoirs of the Republic of Tatarstan" has been launched in Tatarstan, which is being implemented by the Ministry together with the Russian Geographical Society on the example of the Kazanka River.
