Results of the All-Russian Contest were Summed up at the KNRTU

Today summing up of the results of “The All-Russian contest of ideas in the sphere of plastic products utilization and recycling, including products from polyethylenereftalat” took place at the Kazan National Research Technological University. The First Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources Rustem Kamalov also took part in the awarding ceremony.  He pointed out eHethat the Kazan National Research Technological University lived up to its name “national”, having brought together contestants from all Russia – starting from St. Petersburg up to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. In the Year of environmental culture and protection, the contest objective of promoting of innovative, technological and organizational approaches to plastic waste recycling is achieved. Rustem Kamalov also mentioned positive experience of the contest organization and carrying out with business structures involvement, whose representatives expressed their interest in support of the contest winners.

The contest started in March, 2013.  Students, graduate students, creative groups and certain authors presented their scientific and technical projects in the sphere of plastic products recycling.

Within the framework of the contest the expert council was created from representatives of a scientific and business community, authorities and environmental community. For two weeks, from June 1 to June 15, the council got an expert analysis of projects, and decided on 3 winners who presented the most interesting and potentially profitable projects.

 

The 1st place – Madina Kalimullina and Anna Fedorchuk's project “Elaboration of a method of sound- and heat-insulating foam composition on the basis of secondary polyethyleneterephthalate”;

The 2nd place – Alexey Koshkarev's project “Recycling of PET bottles into a fiber of wave structure”;

The 3rd place – Tatyana Bogacheva and Marina Tsyganova's project “PETF recycling into valuable products under the influence of microwave radiation”.

Projects were sent from all Russia. Geography of the contest participants: the Republic of Tatarstan – Kazan, Chistopol and Nizhnekamsk; Tolyatti; Khanty-Mansiisk Autonomous District - Yuagra, Nizhnevartovsk; the Republic of Adygea, Maikop; the Kirov region, Kirovo-Chepetsk; the Rostov region, Novocherkassk; St. Petersburg; the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Krai, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky; Saransk; Moscow; the Krasnoyarsk Krai, the settlement of Beryozovka; Orenburg; the Republic of Khakassia, and Abakan.
