The modes of operation of the reservoirs of the Volga-Kama cascade were discussed today at a meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group

Today, a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on regulating the modes of operation of reservoirs of the Volga-Kama Cascade was held via videoconference. 
Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov took part in the meeting.  
On the agenda is the issue of establishing the operating modes of reservoirs for the period from April 16 to April 30, 2022 - the beginning of the implementation of high discharge costs through the Zhiguli and Volgograd hydroelectric power plants for flooding the territories of the Lower Volga. 
The reservoir is now in the mode of accumulation of water resources. With a given mode of special access to the Lower Volga, the main regulator of the cascade – the Kuibyshev reservoir is filled by April 27 to the level of 52.32 m BS.
The established modes will be published on the Rosvodresurs website. 
The next meeting of the IWG is scheduled for April 26-28.
