Every third Tatarstan citizen takes part in environmental events
On April 1, a sanitary and ecological two-month period starts in Tatarstan. First Deputy Minister-Chief State Inspector of the Republic of Tatarstan in the field of environmental protection Ayrat Shigapov told about how it will be held and the results of last year at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan. Let us recall that the main task of the two-month period is the sanitary cleaning of the territories of settlements, the identification and elimination of piles, garbage dumps accumulated during the winter period and bringing the territories into proper ecological and sanitary-epidemiological condition after the snow cover. In 2021, the inspectors of the Ministry during the two-month period identified and eliminated about 50% of all violations in the field of waste management detected during the year. "Our main goal is not to find and punish, but to identify and carry out preventive measures to prevent violations of environmental legislation," said Airat Shigapov. According to the results of last year, the main types of violations remain: unauthorized placement of municipal, construction, agricultural and industrial waste, cluttering of adjacent territories, and untimely removal of waste from container sites. This year, within the framework of the two-month period, raids are traditionally planned with the participation of JSC "Russian Railways" and employees of the GBU "Road Safety". Aviation will also be involved in conducting surveys of territories. Special attention will also be paid to the state of water protection zones, including the facts of storage of livestock waste. Ayrat Shigapov recalled that the Ministry has a republican public environmental reception, which includes various channels for information exchange. All detected violations on the facts of unauthorized waste disposal are recorded in the GIS geoinformation system "Ecological Map" www.ecokarta.tatar.ru . The Chief State Inspector of the Republic of Tatarstan in the field of environmental protection urged everyone to take an active part in the two-month event, he noted that over the past 5 years, the number of residents annually participating in environmental events has increased to 1.2 million people, and the number of environmental violations is decreasing by 30% every year. This speaks about the ecological awareness and culture of Tatarstan people. He reminded that the traditional competition starts within the framework of the sanitary two-month "Eco-Spring 2022". "In the year of digitalization, we go with the slogan "Smart, April, May". A smart person is both active, kind, and talented," the deputy minister stressed.

During the sanitary and ecological two-month period in 2021, more than 5 thousand violations were detected and suppressed, more than 3 thousand protocols on administrative offenses were drawn up. Fines in the amount of more than 13 million rubles were imposed. About 4 thousand places of unauthorized waste disposal were identified, 96% of them were eliminated by the end of the two-month period. In total, more than 780 thousand people took part in the cleaning last year. About 420 thousand cubic meters of SMW were removed to landfills, more than 700 thousand trees and shrubs were planted.
