The International Forum-Exhibition "Clean Country" is being held at the technopark site these days. The organizer is the "Clean Country" Association with the participation of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia. The main goal of the forum is to support national project "Ecology". A round table on the topic "Water of Russia" was held here today: conservation of water bodies is the main resource of the future", where Airat Shigapov presented a pilot project to improve the ecological condition of the Kazanka River. The project is a joint project with the Russian Geographical Society, leading institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences and other scientific organizations. This is a research work to identify the causes of pollution and develop a set of measures for the rehabilitation of the river. The project will collect and analyze information about the composition of the surface waters of the Kazanka River, identify the causes and sources of negative impacts on the river, conduct surveys, mapping, zoning of the catchment area of the Kazanka River, and conduct a comprehensive scientific assessment of the effectiveness of the measures proposed to date to prevent pollution of water bodies.
The project is unique, the first of its kind in Russia. Subsequently, the results of the project can be replicated to other water bodies of Tatarstan and the Russian Federation.
