Today, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Egor Tarnavsky told reporters about the reclamation and the unique project of the active degassing system used at the Samosyrov landfill. The work here is carried out within the framework of the federal project "Clean Country" of the national project "Ecology". The cost of the work is 872.2 million rubles. Funding comes from the federal and republican budgets. As Egor Tarnavsky noted: "This is a landmark object for the city and for the Republic of Tatarstan. An active degassing system will be used at this landfill for the first time. We started work on the preparation of design solutions back in 2017 by order of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. With the support of the Ministry, PJSC Tatneft initiated the involvement of Prombiogaz LLC and an international expert in the field of research and development of biogas and installations of biogas extraction systems Tristan Gillerbregt. The Deputy Minister elaborated on this unique system. "This is a combination of vertical (80 pipes) and flexible horizontal gas pipelines (a total length of 4250 meters), which will capture up to 95% of all landfill biogas without losses and emissions into the atmosphere. Further, after cleaning, it will flow to the gas piston units of the power plant, that is, the harmful gas will turn into useful electricity. Moreover, it will last for 30 years of processing. The project is social. First of all, we care about the quality of life of the population. We all know what inconveniences Kazan residents experienced. The Ministry received hundreds of complaints about the smell in the Samosyrovo area. It is clear that while the technical stage is underway, there is still a smell, but the goal of all our work is to neutralize the negative impact of this object," Egor Tarnavsky emphasized. Now almost everything is ready to install an active degassing system at the landfill. According to the representative of the contractor Ilnur Khakimov, Deputy General Director of LLC "Yadran-Stroy, currently the overall readiness of the facility is 35%, all work is ahead of schedule. The reconstruction of the pumping station has been completed, the soil has been moved from the first landfill map to the second to align them in height; a crushed stone base has been laid along the perimeter of the slopes, the leveling of the slopes with soil is ending. As Ilnur Khakimov noted, the next stage of work is the laying of geomembranes and hydrometers. In parallel with this, the installation of pipes for the active degassing system will also begin. As part of the reclamation, it is also planned to organize the collection and purification of filtrate and storm sewage. All the work will be completed by the biological stage, which will turn the object of accumulated harm into a green zone of Kazan.
For reference:
The placement of production and consumption waste on the specified territory began in 1960. The first dump arose spontaneously and lasted until 2013. In 2004, a landfill "Samosyrovo" was designed and created next to the Samosyrov landfill, which received waste until 2017.
The area of recultivated land is 14.14 hectares.
The volume of waste is 1560 thousand cubic meters.
The implementation period of the event is 2021-2023.
The state contract was signed with LLC "Yadran-Stroy" for a total amount of 872.2 million rubles, including 200.0 million rubles for 2022.
The population whose quality of life will improve due to the liquidation of the object of accumulated environmental damage is 342,941 thousand people.
