Environmentalists told Kazan schoolchildren how to become free from garbage

14 March 2022, Monday

In the MBOU "Russian-Tatar secondary school No. 136" of the Privolzhsky district of Kazan, inspectors of the Central Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology held an ecological conversation on the topic "Freedom from garbage". Schoolchildren were told that garbage pollution is one of the main environmental problems of our time. To solve it, an integrated approach is needed, which first of all should include environmental literacy. To know about the ways of recycling garbage, to understand the expediency of recycling waste, to be able and apply the rules of separate collection - environmentalists tried to convey to the children the maximum of useful information. A five-minute brainstorming session helped formulate the main reasons for the global accumulation of garbage. This includes the growth of the world's population, the emergence of new synthetic materials that have been decomposing for centuries, and packaging material that serves only marketing purposes and immediately after purchase turns into garbage and goes to landfill. The inspectors hope that after such eco-lessons, schoolchildren will begin to be more selective and responsible about both buying things and how to dispose of them.
