Specialists of the Department of Environmental Supervision of the Northern TA of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, within the framework of regular monitoring of the quality of surface water bodies, took samples in the Shoshma River in the village of Karelino, Baltasinsky district. Sampling was carried out near the wastewater discharge point of JSC "MPP Housing and Communal Services of Baltasi township". According to the results of the analysis of samples, the fact of deterioration of the quality of natural water after the point of discharge of wastewater was revealed, namely, the maximum permissible concentration for ammonium ion was recorded by 2.4 times, nitrites by 6.8 times and sulfates by 1.7 times. The results of the analysis of water samples were transferred to the Volga-Kama Interregional Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Environmental Management to take all necessary measures, since the housing and communal services enterprise belongs to the objects subject to federal state supervision.

It is not the first time that environmentalists have identified the fact of excess pollutants in the Shoshma River. Last year, Archa LLC was fined almost 6 million rubles for the discharge of untreated wastewater from the biological treatment facilities of the Baltasinsky Butter and Dairy Plant. Then, according to the results of the analysis of water samples of the Shoshma River, excess of permissible concentrations for a variety of pollutants were detected. For some of them, the excess was recorded more than 20 times.
