Naberezhnye Chelny schoolchildren got acquainted with the nature of the Polar Regions
The lesson-journey across the icy continent was conducted by employees of the Kama Territorial Administration of the Ministry for students of 5,6 grades of school No. 51. Ecologists in the format of a virtual tour introduced children to the history of the discovery of Antarctica and told why it is the coldest and windiest continent. The informative conversation was accompanied by a presentation about the fauna and flora of the polar continent. In addition, the students were explained why they need a compass, how to use it and on what principle it works. After the theory, the guys started the practical part of the lesson – they played a didactic game "Assemble a picture". The specialists of the department noted that such eco-lessons introduce schoolchildren to the protected system of Antarctica and the work on the conservation of marine ecosystems in the Southern Ocean.
