18 January 2022, Tuesday

Last year, Tatarstan took part in 4 federal projects - "Improving the Volga River", "Clean Country", "Preservation of unique water bodies" and "Conservation of forests". 3 billion 300 million rubles were allocated for their implementation, including over 2.5 billion from the federal budget. "Over the three years of the project implementation, possible damage for more than 5 billion rubles has been prevented. As a result of environmental protection works, for almost 2 million Tatarstan residents living conditions have been improved," Alexander Shadrikov, the Minister of Ecology, said at the final board . This year Tatarstan will take part in another federal project - "Protection from the negative effects of water and ensuring the safety of GTS on the territory of Russia". Financing in the amount of 5 billion 589 million rubles is provided for the implementation of 5 federal projects of the national project "Ecology" in 2022.

In the final report, the head of the department listed the activities that were implemented last year under the national project "Ecology". So, within the framework of the federal project "Clean Country", the reclamation of 2 landfills has been completed: in the village of Prosti and the city of Menzelinsk, work continues on the reclamation of the Samosyrovsky test site. "An important stage in the reclamation of the test site will be the installation of an active degassing system. This will make it possible to extract and process biogas into electricity," Alexander Shadrikov said. The planned period of work implementation is 2021-2023.

In the past year, within the framework of the national project "Ecology" of the federal project "Improvement of the Volga", work on the reconstruction of the Kazan BTP started. They are among the top 200 main pollutants of the Volga River. Ahead of schedule in 2021, measures for the reclamation of silt fields began. Let us recall that the silt fields of biological treatment facilities in Kazan occupy about 100 hectares of area. The geoturbation method will be used for their reclamation. "The project is unique! This is the first and currently the only experience in Russia. Within 4 years, we must complete the technical stage, which will solve the main tasks: dewatering, neutralization and disinfection of accumulated sludge," the head of the environmental protection agency noted of the importance of these works.

In addition to the above-mentioned works, this year the Ministry begins shore protection works in the Kama Estuary and will begin repairing 14 GTS. The implementation of environmental protection measures is actively carried out by the Federal State Institution "Sredvolgavodkhoz". They will start clearing the channels at the Kuibyshev reservoir near the village of Zaymishche, continue dredging near the city of Bolgar — this will ensure safe navigation. They will also carry out work in Naberezhnye Chelny to clear the Melekeski River. "This is a joint work: the clearing within the reservoir will be carried out by Sredvolgavodkhoz, and further upstream is our task, which we set for the future," Alexander Shadrikov said.
