The results of the waste paper collection campaign #BoomBattle have been summed up. Let us recall that it was held in all Russian schools in support of the national project "Ecology". The event is held for the second year in a row on the initiative of the ANO "National Priorities", with the assistance of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia.
"According to the results of the competition this year, the participants in two weeks have collected and handed over for processing more than 2.5 thousand tons of waste paper. This is 4 times more than was collected during the #BoomBattle campaign last year. Translating these indicators into conditional values, the participants of the second All-Russian "Paper Battle" saved 50 million liters of water, saved 2.5 million kW of electricity, reduced the emission of over 4.000 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, and also saved about 50.000 trees or 500 hectares of forest from felling. Almost 2.5 thousand tons of paper raw materials will not end up in landfills, but will be processed into new goods," the organizers of #BoomBattle (ANO "National Priorities") note.
The Republic of Tatarstan took the 11th place among the regions of the Russian Federation. In total, about 17 thousand Tatarstan citizens took part in the action.
"This year's results are really impressive. In total, almost 4.300 applications for participation in the campaign have been received. The competition captured the whole country – almost all regions eventually participated in the #BoomBattle. The Bryansk Region turned out to be the most productive in terms of the amount of waste paper handed over – 117 tons of paper raw materials were sent for processing there. In second place is the Moscow region, 99.5 tons of waste paper. Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous region closes the top three with 88 tons," said Alexander Kozlov, Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation.
Traditionally, schoolchildren remain the most active participants in #BoomBattle: out of 2.338 applications received by the organizers, 1.700 came from schools, 100 from universities and technical schools, and 127 from companies. The remaining 400 applications are from kindergartens, cultural centers and other organizations.
"The participants were no less active in the creative competition. According to the terms of the campaign, users had to post creative posts with hashtags on social networks and celebrate their favorite stars. The main prize of #BoomBattle is communication with the star ambassadors of the campaign. This year, the Paper Battle was supported by Nikita Nagorny, Evgenia Medvedeva, Misha Marvin, Yulia Kovalchuk, Stas Yarushin, Sati Kazanova, Dmitry Guberniev, Sergey Ryazansky, popular cartoon characters "Fixiki" and the Sorting project," the organizers report. All winners of the creative contest will be marked on the official website https://бумбатл .national projects.rf/.
