Kindergartens, schools, universities and colleges of Naberezhnye Chelny collected about 2 tons of spent power sources for recycling. The next environmental action "Hand over batteries with Duracell" was held in the Kama territorial Administration of the Ministry. The main purpose of the event is to promote and educate in the field of separate accumulation, collection and disposal of used batteries. According to environmentalists, after the batteries have used up their charge, they must be properly disposed of, because one battery that gets into the ground can pollute about 20 square meters of soil and 400 liters of water. This is because most batteries contain heavy metals, which even in small quantities can cause harm to human health. "Such campaigns and eco-educational events are held by us regularly. They contribute to environmental education and increase the level of environmental literacy of the younger generation," the specialists of the Prikamsky TA noted.
