The II International Working Meeting on Rehabilitation and Reintroduction of predatory Mammals is taking place in Moscow

Today, the II International Working Meeting on Rehabilitation and Reintroduction of Predatory Mammals is being held via videoconference at the Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences, chaired by Vyacheslav Rozhnov, President of the Mammologist Society at the Russian Academy of Sciences. The event was attended by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov, as well as scientists, representatives of government authorities and non-profit organizations of foreign countries. The project partners are the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Wildlife Society (Russia), the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EAZA), etc.Within the framework of the event, speakers will discuss the results of the Amur tiger and brown bear population restoration project, temporal and spatial patterns of human-leopard interaction, and other topics affecting the rehabilitation and reintroduction of predatory mammals.

The international working meeting will last until October 15. On the day of summing up, the project to create a Center for the study of rare species of "Ak Bars" cats, which was previously initiated by the Republic of Tatarstan, will be discussed.
