The “Ecological expedition” along small rivers of the Republic of Tatarstan initiated by the local branch of the Russian Geographical Society in Chistopol was held on August 3 – 6, 2015 in Tatarstan. In the framework of the project, the youth underwater and research team of the Russian Geographical Society accomplished the float by catamaran ships along such rivers as Sheshma, Prost, and Kama. The float started on August 3 in Novosheshminsk village. On August 6, participants of the “Ecological expedition” were met in Chistopol by fellow workers of the Volga Kama Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. All the participants of the expeditions were awarded with certificates of merit, letters of gratitude on behalf of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The campaign on cleaning of the coastal area of the Kama River from litter was held at the finish by fellow workers of the MinistryThe project is dedicated to the Year of water protection zones of the Volga and Kama rivers, which on the initiative of the acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov will take place in 2016. Inspectors of the State Inspection of Ecological Surveillance under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan revealed the fact of illegal extraction of common mineral resources. On July 30, 2015 the raid with regard to the information provided by citizens through hotline of the Ministry on illegal quarry development near Staraya Tura village of Vysokaya Gora district of the Republic of Tatarstan.
At the site of illegal quarry development (unauthorized extraction of black soil) fellow workers of the Ministry together with prosecutor’s office of Vysokaya gora district of the Republic and fellow workers of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Vysokaya Gora district of the Republic of Tatarstan took in custody a wheel-mounted power shovel with no registration plates and two KAMAZ trucks loadedIn order to ensure more efficient prevention of violations of nature protection legislation, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan will implement material stimulation for citizens who provided information on the violation of nature protection legislation and registered the offender or the vehicle as of August 1, 2015. The citizens who assisted in registration of facts of discharge of production and consumption waste or the facts of illegal development of quarries (unauthorized extraction of common mineral resources) will receive 1,000 (one thousand) rubles. Implementation of such a system will allow to foster the main efforts to identify and punish those who committed this or that violation.

The youth underwater and research team of the Russian Geographical Society will accomplish the float by catamaran ships along such rivers as Sheshma, Prost, and Kama. The float will start on August 3 at 10 am in the Novosheshminsk village, and it will finish on August 6 in Chistopol. The expedition team comprises two groups: the floating group that will be travelling by river and the group of technical support that will accompany the first group along the whole route by cars.
