More than 100 hectares of aquatic vegetation were cleared at the Kuibyshev reservoir as part of the national project "Ecology"
In the Spassky district of the republic, within the framework of the national project "Ecology", the Kuibyshev reservoir is being cleared. The event is held by the branch "Sredvolgavodkhoz "of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Tsentrregionvodkhoz" of Federal Water Resources Agency.
"Two tasks have been set at this facility in 2021: mowing down reeds and aquatic vegetation, as well as uprooting it on another site. We have already finished the second task, now we are continuing to mow the reeds. The work has been going on since the beginning of June and until the frosts," said the director of the "Sredvolgavodkhoz" branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Tsentrregionvodkhoz" Rosvodresursov Marcel Samigullin.
To date, more than 100 hectares of aquatic vegetation have been removed from 253 hectares. Cut and taken ashore plants are transferred to farmers for animal feed.
"After the territory is cleared, we will begin to improve it. A beach will appear in the village of Rzhavets, an asphalt access road will lead to it. The positive results of the clearing work are already visible: herons are returning to the reservoir," said the deputy head of the executive committee of the Spassky district of Tatarstan Evgeny Savinov.
