Last weekend, a voluntary clean-up was held in the Sovetsky district of Kazan to clean up the coastal territory and the bottom of the Komsomolskoye Lake. The event was organized within the framework of the federal project "Preservation of unique water bodies" of "Ecology" the national project.

More than 60 caring residents of the city took part in the action. "In total, 30 bags of garbage were collected from the territory, and 8 of them were filled with glass bottles and weighed 80 kg," the participants reported. In turn, the divers of the underwater research group named after A. A. Leonov cleared the garbage from the bottom of the reservoir. "Despite the muddy water, they picked up plastic bottles that were filled with water or sand, ski poles, a ball, household items and a vinyl record," the divers said.

"According to our observations, we can say that it is still necessary to work in this direction. I am glad that people have begun to pay more attention to the cleanleness of nature," said Andrey Agarkov, Deputy Chairman of the RGS in the Republic of Tatarstan.
