Specialists of the Central Specialized Inspection of Analytical Control of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan took samples of surface water and bottom sediments from the reservoir. The water sample was studied according to hydrochemical and hydrobiological parameters. The results of the study showed the presence of anthropogenic impact on the reservoir.

During the survey of the water body, the specialists of the special inspection noted the beginning of flowering of a filamentous blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) spiral Anabena in the coastal zone of the lake. "The mass reproduction of cyanobacteria begins in stagnant areas of reservoirs at a temperature of 18-25°C," the ecologists said.

Possible causes of flowering are pollution of the coastal territory of the reservoir. The long warm and sunny weather that has been established since May of this year contributes to the lake's flowering, causing active photosynthesis. It should be pointed out that the flowering of blue-green algae is seasonal, it begins in early summer and reaches its peak in August and September.
